The Third Annual Lexington Art Studio Tour
Lexington, VA is truly one of our favorite places to visit in Virginia. So combining its stunning beauty and hospitality with an amazing art studio tour was a perfect Wandering Weekend combination for our family! Throughout our day, we met stone carvers and metal sculptors, learned about fused glass, recycled art and wood-burning kilns, and our kids were even enthralled by a delightful artist in her tree house studio called Wonderland. This trail showcases how unique Richmond is with its partnership of a scenic, raging, historic river with a hip, bustling city. And the heron rookery is a real treat to see! Pack a picnic lunch in a backback (as you will needs your hands free) so you can stop and eat/relax at one of the sandy river beaches you will encounter. (Note: While we

Graffiti Street Art Festival and Light of Human Kindness Project
Given that our house is filled with creative types, I knew we hard to check out Richmond's inagural Street Art Festival in September and it did not disappoint! Per its blog, "The RVA Street Art Festival is defined by three things: suporting arts education for children, discovering and showcasing local artists along with big national artists, and revitalizing challenged areas that are in need of some color and creativity. This Fall's festival was held in September to revitaliz
